EGYPTIAN DAY PRESENTATION
F alconwood Legacy Bloodstock and Dogwood Springs Arabians held an "Egyptian Day" celebration on Saturday, May 22nd. The local community of Longview gave wonderful support and accolades to the seven Egyptian Arabians shown at "Presentations" throughout the day. There was a continuously, large crowd in attendance and many new people were introduced to beautiful representatives of the straight Egyptian Arabian.
The horses were shown at Liberty, at Halter and in Native Costume, while speakers Marilyn Thomas and Jerel Kerby gave tidbits of the history and romance that make up the illustrious past of our Egyptian Arabians. Descriptions were given of each of the classes, along with how the horses are judged. The music was good, the horses spectacular, and all seemed to have a great time.
A popular radio station was broadcasting on-site and interviewing people in attendance. People were enjoying themselves and the Egyptian Arabians got rave reviews. The DJ gave us several spots on the radio to advertise our farms and talk about the horses being presented. He advertised our location and the "Egyptian Day" presentations through the afternoon.
We met successful business owners, owners of other breeds, people that had never seen an Arabian, and those that just wanted to have an "Arabian Experience." We enjoyed visiting with them all.
Other highlights of the day included a (free) drawing for a new saddle and a miniature pony. A Purina representative gave information about nutrition and the feeding of Arabians. Unsolicited sponsors from the community volunteered to donate discount coupons and prizes to the public. We encountered a great community spirit and support by local businesses.

The last of the 2003 foals to be born at Falconwood, is a very sweet, chestnut and flaxen, filly by THEE GAMBLER. This little "Angel" is a great way to conclude another year of spectacular foals by THEE GAMBLER.
CONGRATULATIONS!!! We were just informed that another THEE GAMBLER son, THEE PHARAOH, has garnered two Regional Top Fives. One at Regionals in Tennessee and one in the Mississippi Regional show. THEE PHARAOH placed third at both shows in, Four and Five Year Old Stallions. No lack of competition at these shows. He competed in a class of twenty, and the other, a class of 13. PHARAOH (Thee Gambler x Bint Bint Gemaal) is owned by Lynn and Ruth Woolls. Congratulations!!! We hope to receive recent photos of THEE PHARAOH in the near future. Congratulations, also, on the new, 2003, chestnut and flaxen filly by PHARAOH.
Egyptian Event 2003
The first week in June is always a special occasion for Falconwood Legacy Bloodstock at the Egyptian Event, in Lexington, Kentucky. Our stall area was convenient and sporting our new drapes, we put on a new face for 2003.

SHABAB JAMAL, U. S. National Top Ten Futurity Stallion and FALCONWOOD, Junior Stallion, was presented at the stalls. He was a big hit, garnering many new admirers and acting as if he were the "Star." And, actually he was!

SHABAB's very first foal crop presented us with some beautiful fillies, like the one below. We have been pleased with the cross of SHABAB on our THEE GAMBLER daughters, and this filly is a wonderful example of that cross. (There will be more photos to come of SHABAB foals. Check back on our sales list, in the near future.)

FW BACARRAT garnered Top Tens in Extended Specialty Straight Egyptian Stallions - Three Year Olds, and World Class stallions - Three Year olds.

GAMBLERS HONEY, proudly owned by Larry and Judy Wyles, garnered Top Tens in Liberty, World Class Mares, and Amateur Halter Mare - Novice Handlers, shown by Judy Wyles. HONEY was the only mare to finish in the Liberty finals. Congratulations to Larry and Judy. Not only did GAMBLERS HONEY do very well, but they also had Top Tens for LAJURA BIKR in World Class Colts - Yearling and Adult Amateur Halter Colts - Two Years and Under.

ALI JAMOR was shown in Extended Specialty Straight Stallions - Three Year Olds, and garnered Top Ten.

FW ZAARIYA garnered her Top Ten in Adult Amateur Halter Fillies - Two and Under.

CASSINO, Cassino, a favorite around the farm, garnered his Top Tens in EBC Futurity Colts and World Class Colts.

Egyptian Event 2004
Plans for the Event in 2004 are already in the making. The first foals by SHABAB JAMAL will be shown. And, THEE GAMBLER foals will be back for more! Training will start earlier than it did this year. (We only decided to go three weeks before the 2003 show.) The horses will look better than ever and they will be even more competitive. Watch for those "stunningly red" Falconwood stall drapes and we will look forward to visiting with you at next year's show.
